1:1 Virtual Matchmaking
Corporate buyers can meet virtually with diverse entrepreneurs to explore business opportunities on January 29 from 9am-5pm EST through My Business Matches. Buyers and Suppliers may start requesting appointments on January 22 at 11am. There will be a tutorial with Q&A January 15 at 11 am. Please click here to register and the recording will be shared.

HOW DO I EDIT MY PROFILE?You can edit your profile in 2 different ways: 1) Going to your Dashboard → Set up your profile → Update your profile. 2) Click on Hi… next to your name → Edit your profile.

HOW DO I UPLOAD FILES? (BROCHURE, LOGO)"To upload your files, like a brochure or logo, you need to click on the right top menu (where it says Hi, your name). A list of actions will be displayed and one of them says “Upload files”. Click there to see the different fields to upload. Take into consideration the maximum file size of 10MB and the allowed formats. Make sure your file upload is complete before you leave and that you can view the file uploaded.

WHAT IS THE MAGIC LINK? WHAT IS IT FOR?The Magic Link is a direct log in link that takes you to your Dashboard without asking for your email and password. If you have a colleague participating in the meetings, you may share this link with them. You will find your Magic Link at the end of your confirmation email. You can also request it to our support team: info@mybusinessmatches.com

WHERE DO I FIND THE FULL LIST OF PARTICIPANTS?You will find the full list of participants in the Directory section. You can view the profile by clicking on “View profile” of each participant. On the left side you will find different filters you can apply and the search bar to look for an specificparticipant or by a keyword. You can also chat with all the participants through the “Let’s connect” chat.

WHERE DO I FIND THE COMPANIES THAT I WAS MATCHED WITH?To find the companies you have matched with, you should go to Matches → My matches. In this section you can see their profiles (View Profile), request a meeting (Request meeting) or contact them through our internal chat (Let’s Connect).

HOW DO I SCHEDULE A VIRTUAL MEETING?Buyers and Suppliers may start to request meetings at 11am September 23. To schedule a meeting you should: 1) Click on Matches → My matches. 2) Look for the participant with whom you want to schedule a meeting. 3) Click on the Request meeting button. 4) Select the timetable that you want to propose to the counterpart. 5) Click on the Request meeting button.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO SCHEDULE A MEETING WITH A PARTICIPANT FROM THE DIRECTORY?You can communicate with all the participants of the event in the Directory section through our internal chat “Let’s Connect”. To schedule a meeting with a participant that is not your Match you should contact the Support Team to help you: click on "Contact Support" in the right top corner of the platform or use the Chat box located at the right bottom corner.

HOW CAN I BLOCK OFF MY SCHEDULE IF I HAVE A CONFLICT, CAN'T PARTICIPATE THE WHOLE DAY, NEED A BREAK, ETC?"1) Go to Schedule 2) Check the box that says 'You can block your time here to prevent anyone from sending you a meeting request.' for any time slots where you don't want to receive meeting requests

HOW DO I CANCEL A MEETING?To cancel a meeting you should: 1) Go to Schedule → View/Update my schedule. 2) Look for the meeting that you want to cancel. 3) Click on Cancel meeting.

HOW DO I RESCHEDULE A MEETING IF I CAN'T ATTEND?To reschedule a meeting, you should follow this steps: 1) Cancel the meeting: a) Go to Schedule → View/Update my schedule. b) Look for the meeting that you want to cancel. c) Click on Cancel meeting. 2) Request another meeting to the counterpart: a) Go to Matches → My matches. b) Look for the participant and click on the Request meetingbutton. c) Choose the timetable and send the request.

WHERE CAN I SEE MY MEETING’S REQUESTS (INVITATIONS SENT TO ME BY OTHER PARTICIPANTS)?To see your meeting’s requests you should: 1) Go to your Inbox → Requests received. 2) Click on View request. 3) Select the option to accept or decline the meeting request.

WHERE DO I ACCESS MY NOTIFICATIONS?There are two ways to access your notifications: 1) By clicking on the bell located at the top right corner of the platform. 2) At the end of the Dashboard section. To edit the notifications you would like to receive you should click on the bell and find the option "Notification settings". You can activate or deactivate all your notifications there.

WHERE CAN I SEE MY FULL SCHEDULE OF CONFIRMED MEETINGS?To see your full schedule of confirmed meetings click on Schedule → View/Update my schedule.

HOW DO I CONNECT TO THE MEETING?To access your virtual meeting you should: 1) Go to Schedule → View/Update my schedule. 2) Look for the meeting that you want to join. 3) Click on the Join the virtual room button. Remember that you will do a test to verify that your internet connection, web camera and microphone work correctly. 4) Click on the Join the meeting button.

HOW CAN I REQUEST ASSISTANCE IF I HAVE A TECHNICAL PROBLEM DURING THE MEETING?If you are experiencing technical difficulties during the virtual meeting, click on Request assistance button inside the virtual room and an administrator will join the meeting to help you. There is also a phone icon that you may click to access a dial in number,

CAN I SHARE MY SCREEN DURING MY VIRTUAL MEETING?Yes you can! To share your screen during the virtual meeting you have to click on the button located at the top of your screen that says “Share my screen” inside the virtual room. Then click on “share my entire screen” and you are all set!

HOW DO I INVITE A COLLEAGUE TO THE MEETING?There are two different ways to invite a colleague to the virtual meeting: 1) You can share your credentials with your colleague to login to your profile, go to “Schedule” and look for the meeting to join the virtual room, following the process as you, since the platform allows you to connect from different devices in the same session at the same time. 2) The second option is to use the button "invite to this meeting” once you join the virtual room. You can copy and paste the Magic Link with direct access to the virtual room to your colleague or typethe email address or cell phone number and send it.

WHAT IF THE PERSON I'M TO MEET WITH DOESN'T SHOW?Please be patient as participants are learning the new software. Our team will be monitoring the meetings and if someone isn't in the meeting after 2 minutes, we will contact them. The support person will then join your meeting to let you know the outcome.

HOW CAN I ACCESS THE SURVEY AFTER THE MEETING?There are 2 ways to access the survey: 1) When the virtual meeting ends, click on Exit meeting and submit survey. In that way, you will access the survey automatically. Once you completed it, click on Save to send it. 2) If you haven’t completed the survey when the virtual meeting ended, you can follow these steps: a) Go to Schedule → View/Update my schedule. b) Look for the meeting that you want to submit a survey. c) Click on Survey. d) Complete the survey and click on Save to send it.

WHAT ARE SOME BEST PRACTICES FOR SUCCESSFUL MEETINGS?Suppliers: -Schedule meetings as close to 11am on January 19 as possible. Appointments with buyers fill up very quickly. -Know your elevator pitch. -Research the company that you are going to meet with and understand their industry. -Be specific about how your goods/services can be beneficial. -Be open to subcontracting opportunities. -Have a capability statement and diversity certificate ready to share. -Ask for their contact information and next steps. Buyers: -Respond to supplier meeting invitations quickly, within 48 hours. Suppliers may continue to request appointments for the same slot until an appointment is confirmed. -Share your procurement process. -Share your vision and values and how supplier diversity supports your goals. -Know what your company may be looking to source. -Be willing to make connections. -Share next steps/ set expectations.
